Galvanized or Stainless? A few points to consider:

Stainless chain offers an aesthetics benefit for those who prefer the continuous shine of stainless on the bow of their boat.

Stainless chain avoids the issues concerning galvanizing and wear. It also stows nicely, because unlike galvanized chain it does not 'cone' in the chain locker (simply because the links are smoother).

Our galvanized chain is high-test G4 short link. It is hot-dipped and with proper care, will provide years of use.

If you have ANY questions at all about what size rode you need for your chainwheel, please ask prior to ordering! Custom anchor rodes CANNOT be returned for any reason except unusual wear & tear or defects. Please check sizing prior to ordering.
 

How long does a custom anchor rode take to make?

Our current anchor rode production time is 5-10 business days. We use UPS ground for our free shipping and can take up to 5 business days once your items ships. If you need your rode expedited, please call us to arrange for a different option. 727-489-4533 or email at info@darkhorsemarine.com. If you need lengths longer than what is listed or larger sizes, please call or email with your specs and your shipping address. Items over 150 lbs must be shipped freight and materials may need to be special ordered.

Physically at the warehouse, we stock all of the rope and chain to create our anchor rodes. Here is our current rope and chain inventory levels.

Please expect rodes with these items to take approximately 2 weeks to complete

1/2" chain

Our current turnaround time for orders is 5-7 business days. If an item is under the special order category, please allow 2-3 weeks for us to order materials and create your order. 

 
**All rodes must be soaked prior to use, otherwise snags and slippage can occur. Ensure that you have the proper size and then soak from 2 to 24 hours before loading into your windlass.**
