Windlass Anchor Rode - 1/2" 8 Plait Nylon Rope spliced to 25 ft of 7mm Galvanized G43 Chain
We have taken our renowned rode and made it even better! Instead of a fifteen foot chain lead, we have increased it to twenty-five feet to give you the extra leverage that you need. And when nothing but the best will do, you want Buccaneer rope. This rode uses premium Buccaneer brand rope and galvanized chain. Our chain is high-test G4 short link. It is hot-dipped and with proper care, will provide years of use.
Buccaneer rope is manufactured in the USA in Scottsboro, Alabama. They have been serving the rope and cordage industry for close to 45 years. Buccaneer 8-plait has a more substantial lay that gives more grip when going through your gypsy. This premium rope is for the discriminate boater who wants the benefits of an 8-plait with a thicker hand feel.
Eight plait anchor rodes have a few distinct advantages over three strand rodes:
- Eight plait rodes have a looser, bi-directional woven lay, allowing it to drape over itself, reducing air voids found between the coiled, denser line found in three strand rodes. The more air in the locker, the less line capacity you're able to carry onboard.

Since the line has no bias clockwise or counter clockwise, the rope will not hockle or kink, allowing the windlass to manage the rope better

Great quality. The splice is perfect, it runs through my windlass with zero issue. Great customer service as well!

Great product and even better service
I ordered new chain and anchor line for my boat. The website was clear and easy to navigate - picked out what I needed quickly. Soon after ordering I received a note from a CS person letting me know that they were waiting for a new shipment of line so my order wouldn’t ship for a few more days - nice that they made the outreach first. They offered to cancel and reinstate the order if I wanted but chose just to wait. The order arrived a few days later - free shipping and a free gift of some dock lines - again a smart retailer. The anchor line as as expected - good quality and packed securely. Same with the chain. Came with soaking instructions on the outside of the box. Never used this company before but had a great experience and will absolutely use them again. 5 stars all day.
